Intro to Mindfulness

4-week Intro VIRTUAL Course

 

If you’re curious about learning how to meditate and begin an on-going, personal mindfulness practice, come join this experiential educational class.

 

Discover the healing power of mindfulness by learning various meditation and breathing techniques, mindful movement, and self-compassion. Uncover the power of the present moment to respond to life more deliberately and access your own authority and authenticity. No prior meditation experience necessary and no floor sitting is required. Lead by Allison Peet, a Certified Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) instructor, registered yoga teacher and certified Buteyko Breathing Method instructor.

Daily home practice assignments will be offered and encouraged. We will sometimes use a free meditation app called Insight Timer, which will require you to download to your smartphone. Participants must have a smart phone to have access to this app. It is strongly encouraged that participants spend anywhere from 5-20 minutes per day practicing formal meditation on the 6 days in between our live meetings.

Winter Course
OBJECTIVES

• Learn how to meditate and integrate a more wakeful presence in your daily life. 
• Increase mental performance and emotional intelligence. 
• Cultivate a sense of self-compassion and gentleness…in other words, how not to be such a jerk to yourself!

 
OUTCOMES

• Develop internal psychological resources for stress resilience. 
• Overcome obstacles to a regular mindfulness meditation practice. 
• Experience a quieter mind.

Beginning can be the hardest part to practicing mindfulness. Learn how to begin and maintain a regular self-care practice.

Class Overview

If you’re curious about learning how to meditate and begin an on-going, personal mindfulness practice, come join this experiential educational class. The group meets once per week for 4 weeks for 1.5 hours. Daily home practice assignments will be offered and encouraged. We will sometimes use a free meditation app called Insight Timer, which will require you to download to your smartphone. Participants must have a smart phone to have access to this app. It is strongly encouraged that participants spend anywhere from 5-20 minutes per day practicing formal meditation on the 6 days in between our live meetings.

Tuition 

$95 per person (approx. $15 per class time hour – 6 total hours class time.) 

Cancellation and Refund Policy

Cancellations made 7 or more days prior to date of first class: Full fee is transferable for use within 6 months from session start date. 
Cancellations made 24 to 72 hours prior to date of first class: 50% of full fee is transferable for use within 6 months from session start date. 
Less than 24 hours notice prior to date of first class, no shows, and withdrawing mid-class: Full fee is forfeited. 
If you pay via the online credit card system or Paypal and you request a refund, From Within Wellness, LLC will refund you the total amount less a 3.5% surcharge fee for credit card processing.
