ABC news anchor, Dan Harris, author of “10% Happier: How I Tamed the Voice in My Head, Reduced Stress Without Losing My Edge, and Found Self-Help That Actually Works”  . This book really helped me to wrap my brain around how meditation can help me in the “real world” and demystify preconceived notions of what meditation actually is.  He stresses that you don’t have to burn incense, sit in the full lotus position and shop at Whole Foods in order to benefit from meditation.  This is an excellent video for beginners.

Congressman, Tim Ryan, Representative for the state of Ohio, has made giant strides in spreading Mindfulness to education and government. He has a fantastic book as well called “A Mindful Nation. How a Simple Practice Can Help Us Reduce Stress, Improve Performance, and Recapture the American Spirit”
